Celebrity Chef Dawn Alston of Ravy Cakes, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, grew up in Northern Virginia. She developed her passion of baking at the age of six, thanks to her Uncle David.
Her accolades include the Zoofari cake competition at the National Zoo in Washington DC, a 2014 Cupcake Challenge Competition. the 2017 Extreme Sweets Cake Competition in Washington, DC (where she won 1st Place), and the Food Network’s 2018 Wedding Cake Championship. Pastry Chef Dawn currently instructs private and group cake baking and decorating classes for both children and adults.
In 2020, Chef Dawn partnered with Angela Akinpelu of Soytopia to bring to fruition her dream of expanding her brand to include gourmand candles. Why candles? The sense of smell is so intricately tied to memories and experiences. Through this sense, Dawn's journey and evolution as a chef is still unfolding. By sharing fragrances near and dear to her heart, it is Chef Dawn's wish that she can share and unfold her journey with you!
The first two fragrances to be released are Uncle David's Lemon Pound Cake and Signature Rum Cake. Both of these are near and dear to Chef Dawn's heart as both of these cakes were instrumental in the beginning of her journey as a Pastry Chef.
Coconut, palm, and soy way are hand-poured into a 14 ounce glass vessel. Lid is included.
